 In Japan, Kusari-Doi or "Rain Chains" have been used for hundreds of years. Copper Rain Chains can be found on temples, homes and in gardens all over Japan. "Kusari-Doi" provide a beautiful and functional alternative for the rain water gutter down pipe, producing a lovely cascade of water flowing gracefully between the sections of rings or cups. These are normally finished at ground level with a weight standing on pebbles to keep the chain taught. The water from the Kusari-Doi may then be fed into a pot or suitable drain covered with pebbles.
Dankoi are proud to be able to supply a large selection of these Kusari-Doi outside of Japan. Our Kusari-Doi are available in many different designs and materials to suit every budget. Copper Chains are the best and most elegant, and in time will weather to a delightful "Verdigis Patina". Copper coloured ABS plastic and black polyethylene are also available and have their place, especially where large quantities are required and weight and cost is a consideration.
All Kusari-Doi come in a standard length of 2.7m (9ft) and can be shortened or lengthened as required. |

 This is "the piece" to compliment any Japanese rain chain installation. This beautifully hand crafted sheet copper rain hopper for half round gutters can be fitted over your existing gutter outlet section or as a direct replacement, allowing the water to be directed into the rain chain while giving the finishing touch to your rain chain.
(May require some fitting work for U.K. 4.5" half round gutters or other shapes of guttering with minor modification)
Comes in three sections which fit together with small domed copper bolts or rivets.

 This rain chain consists of 34 beautifully engineered heavy copper cages formed by 3 large 100mm (4") interlocking welded 6mm thick rings forming 6 segments.
Each copper "cage" is carfully crafted and precision welded into the next cage forming a continuous copper chain of 3.0m (approx 10ft). The chain is finished off at the bottom with a solid cast copper weight in the style of flower petals with copper attachment hook.
This big beautiful chain will cope with large water flow from up to 3-6" gutter outlets giving a graceful flow between the rings, and makes a bold statement in any Japanese garden or Japanese style home.
In time the bright new copper will weather to a delightful "Verdigris Patina". Each link in the solid copper chain measures 100mm (4") diameter with a bottom weight of 125mm (5") diameter x 90mm high including the copper attachment hook.
Rain chains are normally finished at ground level with the weight supplied to keep the chain taught. The water from the chain may be fed into a large pot or suitable drain covered with pebbles. This elegant rain chain is sold in a standard 3.0m (10ft) length and can only be shortened by cutting the rings. Easy to install using the heavy duty stainless steel attachment "looped rod" gutter attachment. (Gutters may require additional support bracketing for this weight of chain).

 This lovely solid copper, Japanese rain chain consists of 29 beautifully engineered "fluted" copper flower cups and flower petal copper bottom weight. Each copper cup is joined to the next with heavy gauge copper links, producing a lovely cascade of water that flows gracefully between the cups. In time the bright new copper will weather to a delightful "Verdigris Patina". The "flower cups" each measure 55mm x 60mm with a bottom weight of 100mm x 64mm.

 This fantastic Japanese rain chain, made of thick copper comprises 26 beautifully crafted "crown cups", and a deep petal shaped copper bottom weight.  One of the oldest styles of rain chains, this solid copper, Japanese rain chain consists of 68 beautifully engineered copper cages formed by two interlocking welded rings 4mm thick.
Each copper "cage" is built into the next cage forming a continuous copper welded chain of 3m (approx 10ft). The chain is finished off at the bottom with a solid copper weight in the style of the flower cup. This beautiful chain will produce a lovely cascade of water flowing between the rings.
In time the bright new copper will weather to a delightful "Verdigris Patina". Each link in the solid copper chain measures 50mm (2") diameter with a bottom weight of 85mm diameter x 70mm including the copper attachment hook.
