 Hanna C203 8-Parameter Water Test Meter
The following meters work using ion specific chemical method, in other words like simple test kits, a chemical is added and a colour is formed and the electronic meter reads the results very accurately in mg/l down to 2 decimal places I.E. 0.01mg/l special reagents (chemicals) are required for each parameter.

This comes complete with the 5 major test reagents: - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Dissolved Oxygen. There is enough reagents supplied to perform 100 tests
How they work?
There is no need to calibrate as the test procedure does this for you. Fill the test tube with a clear pond water sample, insert into meter, press the “zero” button (this calibrates the pond water sample to the meter as a reference), add the reagent to the same test tube, Insert back into the meter, press the read timer button, this starts a timer count down, then the meter shows the result on the digital display. All have a 2 year warranty. |

 Simply fill the test tube with pond water, insert the meter and press the "zero" button. This will calibrate the pond water sample to the meter as a reference, add the reagent to the same test tube, insert back into the meter, press the read timer button, this starts a timer count down, then the meter shows the result on the digital display. That's it! It doesn't get any easier.

 Nitrates are present in nature as a result of the decomposition of organic microorganisms or due to their use as fertilizers. Nitrates reduce to nitrites, which in turn easily combine to form substances dangerous to man.
A maximum level of 45 mg/L is established as a worldwide guideline for nitrate concentration in water. In Europe, the maximum consented level of nitrates in potable water is 50.0 mg/L, while in the USA the EPA has established a guideline for the maximum level of nitrate nitrogen of 10 mg/L (NO-3-N), which corresponds to 45.0 mg/L of nitrates |

 Nitrites are an intermediate product in the nitrogen cycle and are produced during ammonia oxidation with water, or even originate in industrial waste directly. They must not be present in drinking water.
Nitrites can be harmful to aquatic organisms even in low concentrations and for this reason, they are closely monitored in aquaculture facilities. In cooling towers, however, an adequate amount of nitrites is necessary to prevent corrosion. In high concentrations, they can be harmful to environment and to our fish.
