 ELBAGIN
Elbagin is an excellent mild fungicide and anti-bactericide. Elbagin with it's unique properties, when added to the water becomes an ideal treatment to help prevent cross infection between your fish, it is ideal for the transportation of your fish and can be used in conjunction with salt.
Elbagin, with it's sterilizing properties, is also very useful as a treatment for small abrasions and wounds. Elbagin constantly yet slowly sterilizes theses damaged areas on your fish, thus enabling damaged tissue to repair itself naturally without the need for more radical treatments requiring the Koi be placed under anaesthetic, which can be very stressfull for the fish. Elbagin also acts as a mild sedative, relaxing the fish when being transported.

Other benefits of Elbagin include that it is a great destressor, non-aggressive and can also be used as a gill wash. Elbagin is a 10% preparation of Sodium Nifurstyrenate (C13 H8 05 Nna) visually of yellow granular appearance which when mixed with water turns bright yellow in colour. Elbagin is extensively used throughout Japan to aid with the safe transportation of Koi in plastic bags or transportation tanks.
Elbagin and Salt
Elbagin has been extensively used with salt and in this combination is a superb treatment as additional benefits are included. The Elbagin calms the fish down and helps them get over the stress of the journey while the salt helps clear congestion from the gills and inproves osmoregulatory function.
As mentioned Elbagin is a superb mild bactericide and fungicide, it has been used extensively by the Japanese for years. Elbagin helps reduce stress and is an ideal quarantine treatment and gill wash.
Elbagin Recommended Doasages:
Mix 10 grams of Elbagin for every one Ton of water (220 gallons) if using in a treatment tank for bacterial or antiseptic treatments. It is highly recommended to use Elbagin with salt support at the dose rate 0.5% (5 Kilos of salt per ton of water (220 gallons)). Pleae note that the higher the pond temperatute 68° - 75° the more effective Elbagin becomes.
