A "Pagoda" or "Stupa" serves as a memorial to Buddha honouring his life and teachings Interestingly, the Pagodas always have an odd number of tiers.
This five tiered Pagoda represents the five natural elements of the universe: Earth, water, fire, wind and metal. The nine rings from the top tier relate to the nine heavens of Buddhism.
A lotus, the symbol for Buddha, crowns the top of the Pagoda. Usually placed on a hillside or next to a path, this magnificent Pagoda is 1500mm tall and 180kg.
